After two weeks hospital, my husband is finally home. He still got his drain, but people of home care will look after that twice a day. It's just a relieve to have him back :-D

Stampotique Challenge: Out with the Old, In with the New

It's the last Stampotique challenge of the year and Clair challenges us to use something Old and Something New on our projects, or with a New Years Theme.
I made this ATC with the fun girl stamp from Kelle Mccarter and gave her a fun New Year's diadem. For the old I used paint and a TH die for the numbers. And for the new I used a fresh stamp that I didn't had the pleasure to use before and a new template.

Art Journal Page

I'm a bit MIA :-( My husband has been sick since last week and is now staying in the hospital (hopefully only) for the night. He has a infected colon. I have been busy with a lot, but it doesn't involve getting messy with ink and stamps. Although I had to release some steam and made this page.

Stampotique Challenge: Christmas w/non-traditional stamp

France is hosting this weeks Stampotique challenge. As Christmas is coming closer, it's sad to see how most of the non Christmas themed stamps are neglected! So, how about making a Christmas card, with non traditional stamps.
For this challenge I used some Christmas paper I bought last year from De Kruidvat (Dutch store) and a silver doily. The Wish Word is stamped on a TH Mini Labels die and colored with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter.

Stampotique Challenge: Sentimental

At Stampotique, Gez is challenging us to use a sentiment. I love this sentiment, it really makes my giggle. And it fits perfect with the grumpy face of Tangled enthusiasm.

Don't you just love some handmade presents for Christmas? I think a bookmark is just a perfect gift :-D
I made the background with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter and Dusty Concord. The ribbon and the backgrounds in the frame are also colored with Distress Stains. The stamps are colored with Distress Markers.

Stampotique Challenge: It's a wrap

This weeks challenge at Stampotique is Wrapping those last minute gifts in a Stampotique way! When your invited to a (Christmas) diner, it's always nice to bring something for the host(ess). That's how I thought of this wine label, to make it a bit more personal/festive. The wine label is made with the Tim Holtz Vintage Cabinet die. I got my idea from this blog, it has a good photo tutorial too, if your interested in how to make this. I also used Distress Stains Brushed Pewter, Evergreen Bough and Distress Ink Evergreen Bough. I colored the stamp with Distress Markers. There is also glitter and Glossy Accents on the heart.
Okay... not really a wrapping, but hope you still like it :-D

Stampotique Challenge: Use Paint

The new challenge at Stampotique is to use paint in your creation. I love to use acrylic, although nowadays my hands are almost always covered in inkspray :-D
For this challenge I made a card, I used yellow and gold acrylic. The black circles and splatters are Indian Ink. Of course I also used Color Wash through a Crafters Workshop template. When I stamped the sentiment, I pressed to hard, hate when that happens. But I made it work for me :-)

Card

Don't you just love this new stamp of Stampotique. It's such a sweetie and can be used for so much more than only Christmas. I thought the sentiment fits it perfectly,  it's an old one I found in my stash.

Stampotique Challenge: Hanging Decorations

A new challenge at Stampotique. Sam challenges us to make a hanging decoration for the home. She says that our art shouldn't be hidden away in draws or boxes but shown and shared with everyone, and she is so right about it :-D. When I saw this frame at Xenos (Dutch store), I thought it was perfect for the challenge. I made a little family portrait for it ;-P

Stampotique Challenge: Funny Halloween

Happy Halloween, everyone! How exited, this is my first time to host a challenge. Okay... I hope you like a Halloween themed challenge, even if it's a bit last-minute ;-) Personally I thought this years Halloween couldn't be skipped on the Stampotique Challenge blog. There are so many fun Stampotique stamps that can be used for this theme. I challenge you to make something funny this Halloween. I really can't wait to see what you come up with! :-D

Stampotique Challenge: CASE

This week it is CASE (Copy And Steal Everything) at Stampotique. You can choose a DT member and make something in their style or make something like a DT member once did. Don't forget to give the person credit when you CASE them :-)
I chose Jane and used this technique for my card. It's the negative image of a template. I don't want to waste the beautiful spray ink on my templates, so I always use it on something else, double fun of one spraying :-)

Scraps

I love scraps. I rarely throw a failed background away. They can be used in other pages, like I did here and here. Or when I don't have much time but want to play, turn in something fun and simple, like these ATC's :-D

Art Journal Pages and Stampotique Challenge: Background

This weeks Stampotique challenge is hosted by Carol and she challenges us to use stamps in our background, as well as our main focal image.
I made this background with a technique I learned at Kate's workshop, it's a really messy look and I love it :-D

Inky Year Journal workshop by Kate Crane

Yesterday I had an awesome day at De Craftorij (Dutch Scrap and Mixed-Media store). I was participating in Kate Crane's Inky Year Journal workshop. It was such a fun workshop and a really cool journal to make. Here are some pictures of the journal.

I decided to make this just a fun journal for beautiful pictures of my son. It still need some journaling and finishing touches. I'm going to make a real year journal for 2013, with tabs for all the months.

Here a picture of Kate and me, such a great and sweet teacher. She was handling a class full of Dutchies full of sucker (from the M&M's) very well ;-)

Stampotique Challenge: Scrap It!

It's Jo's turn to host a challenge at Stampotique. She decided on something that she usually avoid- using photographs along side stamping. This challenge theme can incorporate your photographs in anyway possible either on a page, inside a journal, on a canvas, a mini book, an altered item...anything you wish, just as long as you are using stamping somewhere too.
So I'm not a scrapper, but love to learn/try it. Let me know what you think.
