Workshops

Yesterday I had a FABULOUS day with The Dina Wakley!!!

I had the pleasure to be in her class Layers of Life at The Craftorij. I had such a fun day, made new friends, making dirty hands. Although I am not very happy about my finished product, I learned a lot from it and going to try the techniques at home.

I also followed a mini online workshop from Mindy Lacefield. I really enjoyed this workshop where you can let your inner child play. I made this painting this morning. It's on A3 size paper, for me, that's BIG! For someone who doesn't paint I think I did a good job :-D

This and that

It's my hubsters birthday!!! I made him this card and going to surprise him tonight with a lovely birthday dinner. Hopefully he is not reading this ;-)

On a Dutch AJ Forum I'm organizing a Circle Journal. I have done this before and it's so much fun to do. It's always so cool to get art in your mail :-D This is my first page I made for Melanie. Her chosen theme is fairy tales, so I used my new Wizard of Oz stamps from Stampotique. By the way... Melanie is super talented and she is doing a giveaway on her blog, the price is a handmade surprise gift. She is celebrating her 1st year of blogging.

And at last an Art Journal page I made recently.

Stampotique Challenge: Spring

Spring is officially here!!! I have seen some brave little spring flowers, but further the weather here is still cold. We had snow last week and today again! I am so ready for spring.
So this week at Stampotique, Sue challenges us to make something with spring theme or with spring colors. I made this card with warm happy colors and this awesome Easter basket. Because I was away last week, I decided to use Maria's sketch from last weeks challenge for now. I used Dylusions spray on the background and Distress Markers for the coloring. I also stamped Mesh with some Distress Marker on it. The text is computer generated.
Hope you will play along with us.

Art Journal Pages

Hello everyone... sorry for the silence on my blog, I was on a short holiday trip with my little family :-)
I always love to bring some stuff with me to create a little travel journal. I had Distress Stains, Distress Ink Pads and Distress Markers with me. Of course Crafters Workshop templates, can't live without them ;-) A few stamps and some washi tape. I also did some creature doodling on my pages. Here are some snapshots of what I did. I still have to add the photos and journaling.

Also a new page in my Art Journal about the holiday, my little boy is in a difficult phase (he is 2 with a strong mind), so love to call him monster in my journal ;-)

Southern Girls Challenge: Tag You're It

Today Stampotique is excited to partner up with Southern Girls Challenge in sponsoring the current "Tag You're It" Challenge. So for this challenge I made this tag with the super cute Molly and the most fitting sentiment for Stampotique's creatures. The background is made with the delicious Dylusions spray and Molly is colored with Distress Markers.
Make sure to link up your tags over at Southern Girls Challenge for your chance at the $30 gift certificate.

Stampotique Challenge: Inspiration from a Song

This weeks challenge at Stampotique is hosted by Sam. She challenges us get inspiration from a song. I could say that the song that I choose was my inspiration for my card, but it was pretty much the other way around :-P I really wanted to play with my newest stamps. When I choose Dorothy, the song came quickly and the idea for the card popped in my head. I used the new colors Dylusions spray (apart from the orange) on cutting waste. I used different background stamps from Stampotique stamped with Distress Inks, but they do not really show unfortunately :-/ Dorothy and Toto were colored with Distress Markers. The quote was computer generated.

Stampotique New Stamp Release

Thank you all for your sweet comments on my projects for the Blog Hop, they really put a smile on my face :-) Here are a few more projects I made with the new stamps from Stampotique.

Waving Spotted Monster by Kira Nichols

Cowardly Lion by Janet Klein
You're Strong by France Papillon

I also did something out of my comfort zone, I made a little creature and doodled on my journal page. I have no interest in making stylish faces, but this I love and wanted to try. There was a video about making creatures by Courtney aka Little Raven Ink, click here for the YouTube video. I also used a new stamp on this page.
