Pink Roses
This beautiful big lip girl is made with the free tutorial from Marieke Blokland at Bloknote Academy. This tutorial is in Dutch, but Marieke is working on an English version too. This was so much fun to make!!

Red
I just finished up a superduper cool workshop from the BloknoteAcademy, Red - a mixed media fairy tale. She stimulates the advanced to make their own Red and so I tried. I think she came out lovely. But I sooo love the style from Marieke, just have to make another one someday ;-) It's so cool to make a painting that really tells a story, I don't do that much.
Like I said, she teaches you to look for your own Red and Big Bad Wolf (or you can copy her) and she goes step by step through the process of making this painting. And she makes the best videos I have seen, just eye candy and fun to watch.

Workshop
So exciting, I'm going to give my first workshop at De Scrapheap (Dutch store). It's a Gelli Plate workshop and of course we are going to use lots of Stampotique stamps ;-)

Life Book
I made some time to do a few Life Book lessons. I'm so behind, but that's okay :-) This is week 19 from Danielle Daniel and week 31 from Mika Diaz. Both have collage work in them, the first page with papers from a magazine and book, the second with Gelli Plate prints. The girl on the first page was a challenge, to do a different pose, she is not perfect but she is good enough ;-) The second is a stamp from Prima on tracing paper.

Life Book
Oh my... I'm so far behind on Life Book :-/ But still loving it!!! Best purchase of 2014.
Last week it was my super talented friend Marieke who gave her BONUS lesson, so I had to do this. I had sooo much fun. All the background papers are handmade. I have to say that I did a clean version of Marieke her class example, but I really love how it turned out :-)
By the way... Marieke has a new online workshop up at her Bloknote Academy. I already signed up, cause I'm not busy enough already LOL ;-)

Blue
My amazingly talented friend Marieke has opened her online Mixed Media school Bloknote Academy. She has Blue, a happy sad mixed media workshop available there (and also a free workshop, check it out). I have just round this workshop up, with 7 lessons with approximately 2 hours of video. I had so much fun. If you are feeling blue, you definitely have to do this, it's therapeutic ;-) But it's fun anyway, no matter your mood. She is showing you everything, step by step. I really love the girl that I created, I even scanned her, so I can use her again :-D

Life Book
As I promised a little update on my projects. Today I want to share with you week 8 and 10 of Life Book (week 9 was an artist interview). Week 8 lesson was from Alena Hennessy, it turned out completely different than her work. How much I liked what she did, it didn't resonate with me or something. She did abstract work and that was what I tried for myself. I think abstract is really difficult, but I did it anyway ;-)
Week 10 lesson was from Tamara herself, always a lot of fun. She taught us about paint over collage. I started with an image out of a magazine, painted over it and altered her to my liking (for example in the original she had short hair). The shading is still not perfect, but I really like her.
Later this week an update of my Documented Life Project.

Life Book
Last week we had the gorgeous Jane Davenport as a teacher at Life Book. She had a real challenge for us, to make a pop-up page. The real problem for me was, what to draw? I don't feel comfortable with drawing yet, so I made the leaping girl like Jane showed us in the lesson. The moon was pretty simple. And the books are a Stampotique stamp, it was getting late ;-) For the cover I first glued some book text and stamped the air-balloon. Further I used Neo Colors II and a layer of white acrylics. The flowers are a Donna Downey stencil and the birds a Donna Downey foam stamp. I only have to add some words, but so far I'm pretty pleased with it :-)

Life Book
We had some very fun lessons these weeks at Life Book. Last week we had a delicious lesson from Marieke Blokland, with her Sugar Diva. I love her faces, they are so much fun to do. It's so awesome to learn so many styles and techniques of different teachers/artists.
This weeks lesson was from Tam and it was right up my alley. I already loved her inky creations and was really excited that she would teach us. And I think that you peeps know how much I love my ink sprays, so I was in my happy place :-)
The small pictures are the warm up page and the outside page of the girls face.

And Yes... you can still sign up!!! If you do, please use the link (Life Book Button) on my right side bar to support a crafty friend of mine (the lovely and super talented Marieke), who is one of the teachers. And use her link to get to the Life Book page. That's how the teachers get a piece of the cake.

Life Book
Little update of my Life Book adventures ;-)
These pages were made from bonus lessons, just short exercises from the Life Book teachers. Oh...We had to pick a word of the year and also a color palette. So that's why I use this word and colors a lot ;-) I also picked a symbol with it, and that's a feather.
First page was an affirmation page with Micki Wilde. She made us play with a grey background. At first I didn't like the idea, but after doing it, I really liked it :-) Dylusions is releasing new colors spray and definitely going to get the grey one :-) And the second page was more of a collage page with Kelly Hoernig.

Life Book
Time for something different on my blog :-) This year I'm following Life Book. I'm soooo excited what this journey will bring me. There are some great teachers this year. And you can still sign up!!! I posted this already on Facebook, but maybe not everybody here is following me there ;-) The first page was a warm up page. And the second, don't be scared, I had to draw a FACE. I know ;-) It's not perfect, but for a first try I'm really proud of myself. I used a piece from Tamare Laporte as inspiration.

Overload – Grungy Journal Workshop by Finnabair
Last Sunday I had the pleasure to attend a workshop by the very cool Anna Dabrowska aka Finnabair at De Scrapheap. She really has such an awesome style, so I was really exited to join her class. And the kit she handed out!! My gosh...so generous. It was such fun to work with different materials and mediums. We have used Luminarte Silks, such beautiful paints and the colors are delicious. The trinkets designed by Anna for Prima are gorgeous. So sadly my wishlist is getting larger by the minute ;-)

Workshops
Yesterday I had a FABULOUS day with The Dina Wakley!!!
I had the pleasure to be in her class Layers of Life at The Craftorij. I had such a fun day, made new friends, making dirty hands. Although I am not very happy about my finished product, I learned a lot from it and going to try the techniques at home.
I also followed a mini online workshop from Mindy Lacefield. I really enjoyed this workshop where you can let your inner child play. I made this painting this morning. It's on A3 size paper, for me, that's BIG! For someone who doesn't paint I think I did a good job :-D

Inky Year Journal workshop by Kate Crane
Yesterday I had an awesome day at De Craftorij (Dutch Scrap and Mixed-Media store). I was participating in Kate Crane's Inky Year Journal workshop. It was such a fun workshop and a really cool journal to make. Here are some pictures of the journal.
I decided to make this just a fun journal for beautiful pictures of my son. It still need some journaling and finishing touches. I'm going to make a real year journal for 2013, with tabs for all the months.
Here a picture of Kate and me, such a great and sweet teacher. She was handling a class full of Dutchies full of sucker (from the M&M's) very well ;-)
