Documented Life Project

This year the Art of the 5th gals changed the Documented Life Project a bit. Each week they give an art challenge and an journal prompt to inspire you. I bought a Dylusions journal as they suggested, but didn't use it till recently. Maybe it was my fear of working in a bound journal. I always felt, that if one page was a failure, my whole book was one. Since Life Book I became more confident, if I don't like it I just change it, you always have gesso ;-) So I started, and so far so good. I don't use DLP anymore for documenting my life, I use my Midori planner for this and combine it with Life Book.

Documented Life Project

I can't believe this, the year is nearly over, and I'm still doing DLP :-) Next year there will be another DLP, but I decided to go do it differently. I'm going to combine this format from DLP with Life Book. So I will work in the same journal as this year (Midori), but the tip-ins are going to be a Life Book lesson instead of a DLP prompt (week 42 was also a Life Book lesson). Inside the tip-in are photos and ephemera of my week. I really fell in love to document my life like this and also my son really enjoys going through the journal :-)

Documented Life Project

Two more pages for The Documented Life Project. The second page was made with a technique Roben Marie showed in this You Tube video. Love this way of mark making.

Documented Life Project

Here are two weeks of the Documented Life Project. I LOVE this project, I love that I'm keeping memories of my daily life. I didn't hold on to Project Life, where you take a picture a day (look here for these). But this is much easier for me.
At the end of the week I finish up my pages and copy my daily planner in my journal. I look at my phone at the pictures I took that week and print some. Than I decide what to put further on the inside pages, most of the time I paint a girl :-) I use the outside of my tip-in for the challenge, which we get on Saturday. I usually make the background and challenge page at the beginning of the week.
It keeps my busy, that's for sure ;-)

Documented Life Project

I'm still joining the Documented Life Project, but continued in a new journal. This is a Midori planner insert. Every week has a planner page and I have put a tip-in in it. I use the front of the tip-in for the week challenges and the inside is for photos and daily ephemera. The face on the last photo, on the inside of my tip-in, is not mine. I got it in a Happy Mail from Amber Button and had to use this cutie :-)

The Documented Life Project

Here is another update about my Documented Life Project. I have to say that I don't really love every week, but for the complete picture I will just show them ;-)
I really like week 13, which is my sons' hand and his scribbles in it. And I also like the outcome of week 14, just a Gelli Plate print out of my box with "failed backgrounds". All the papers I use came out of this box, love that I finally use them.

Prompt: Cut up a magazine - add

Prompt: Ask someone else to draw on

And it feels so good that my hoarded paper pieces are finally used. I was a bit behind, but I worked my butt off yesterday ;-)

The Documented Life Project

I couldn't help myself... and joined the fun with The Documented Life Project ;-) This challenges gives you weekly prompts to work with. The idea was to use an agenda/calendar, but I made a journal myself with paper I had lying around. I bought some cool stuff at the Hema like the tabs and some tape. I want to use paper scraps on my pages, cause I hardly throw anything away and save my "failed" backgrounds or inky impressions of my templates. Hopefully the box will be less full at the end of the year ;-)

Prompt: Front door

Prompt: Selfie

Prompt: Envelope out your mailbox
(there is art work of my son in it)

Prompt: Secret message
